Honey Myrtle: Down Under Healing for Everyday Wellness
Powerful support for the space you live in—and the heart you live with.

Hello Friend!
Spring Cleaning: Clearing Space to Breathe Again
There’s something deeply satisfying about cleaning—not just wiping down surfaces, but clearing the clutter we’ve stopped noticing. We all know the feeling: in creating order, things often look messier before they shine. Drawers emptied, piles made, decisions waiting to be sorted.
But this is where the magic lives.
Spring cleaning is about creating spotless countertops and, in the process, clarity. It’s about reconnecting with our spaces and remembering what we want to live with. The things tucked away in the backs of drawers, the forgotten items gathering dust, become invitations to pause, release, and reset.
As aromatherapists, we understand how a single scent can change the energy of a room—and change us. Scent keeps us grounded in our space and present in the moment. Eucalyptus can offer clarity, lemon brings lift, and lavender softens the edges. These small, sensory shifts help us embody the person we wish to be, allowing us to create a space that reflects our needs, values, and intentions.

Aromatic Creations Recipe
Rise & Refresh Diffuser Blend
This month, we’re leaning into honey myrtle’s bright, lemony clarity—a beautifully supportive oil that brings both antimicrobial strength and emotional uplift. It’s an excellent companion for seasonal cleaning, especially when we want to refresh the air and invite new energy into our space.
The essential oil molecules help cleanse the air and the room when using an ultrasonic cool mist diffuser. They gently settle onto nearby surfaces, touching areas we may not think to reach. It’s a quiet, continuous way to purify your environment while supporting your mood and focus.
Rise & Refresh Diffuser Blend
Add the following directly to your diffuser with water (as directed by your diffuser’s manufacturer):
3 drops Honey Myrtle Oil (Melaleuca teretifolia)
3 drops Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
3 drops Juniper Berry Oil (Juniperus communis)
This blend offers a soft yet effective aromatic cleansing, uplifting, calming, and clarifying with a hint of the forest. It’s ideal for mornings when you want to open windows, refresh the day, and feel clear in your space.
The aroma does the tending quietly, beautifully, and all around you..

Product Spotlight
Honey myrtle (Melaleuca teretifolia) is a standout if you’re looking for an essential oil that blends freshness with gentle strength. Its vibrant, lemony-sweet aroma is purifying and uplifting—a perfect companion for spring’s energetic shift.
Honey myrtle is known for its potent antimicrobial properties. I love using it in surface sprays, diffuser blends, and seasonal cleaning rituals. It brings a calm, emotionally supportive energy that makes my environment feel lighter, inside and out.
And it doesn’t stop there. Honey myrtle has a whole bouquet of benefits that go well beyond cleaning:
Helps ease everyday aches and tension
Gently calms muscle spasms and tightness
Supports a fresh, healthy environment by reducing unwanted microbes
Offers natural protection against oxidative stress
Helps clear the airways when things feel a little congested
Soothes irritation, especially when you're feeling inflamed or sensitive
Keeps things balanced and fresh with its natural antifungal action
Encourages deep relaxation when it’s time to unwind
We featured it in this week’s Aromatic Creation because tending to your space feels like a joy, not a chore. Whether clearing the air or refreshing your mindset, this little bottle brings sunshine to your routine.

Let’s Talk Aldehydes!
In this season of fresh air and intentional living, let’s shine a little light on a powerful chemical family in the essential oil world: aldehydes.
This family includes bright, potent components like geranial and neral, known as citral. These constituents are found in oils like lemongrass, melissa, may chang, and yes, honey myrtle. They bring a sharp, citrusy brightness that’s both cleansing and uplifting.
We explore aldehydes in depth in our Aromahead Aromatherapy Certification Program. Here’s a guiding thought we share in the course:
“Aldehydes are wonderful oils with some significant safety concerns. Oils high in aldehydes can be very irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, so they must be used very carefully. They are wonderful oils when used properly.”
So, how do we use them correctly?
The answer is: dilution.
Dilution is essential for comfort and safety when using oils high in aldehydes topically (on the skin). We recommend starting with a 0.7% dilution, about 4–5 drops in 30 ml of carrier oil. To further support the skin, we pair them with calming, nourishing oils like lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) or grounding base notes like sandalwood (Santalum album), patchouli (Pogostemon cablin), or vetiver (Vetiveria zizanoides).
For diffusers, 2–3 drops of an aldehyde-rich oil are plenty to cleanse the air and shift the mood—there is no need to overdo it.
Understanding the chemistry behind your blends helps you create with confidence.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
Clarity doesn’t come from adding more, but from choosing well. Simplicity is elegant whether you’re refreshing a space, refining a blend, or realigning with what matters most.
