Carrot Seed Skincare Secrets! Detox & Cell Renewal
Get off the beaten path! Customize your skin care with carrot seed oil & DIY moisturizers.

Hello Friend!
I decided it was time to get off the beaten path, to head up to higher ground. The snow was quickly melting, and adventure called. Someone else had the same idea, leaving deep footprints ahead of me. Instinctively, I tried to follow, stepping where they had stepped.
But after about ten steps, I realized their strides were too far apart for me! I had to stop trying to fit into their path and make my own.
Have you ever felt that way? Trying to follow in someone else’s footsteps, only to find they don’t quite fit?
Aromatherapy can feel the same way. There are countless essential oil recipes, and sometimes they work perfectly. But we’re all unique, and so are our needs. Maybe your skin is healing, but you’re also dealing with swelling in your ankles. Or maybe there’s something else that needs support. A great blend for your skin might not address some of these other needs.
That’s where the beauty of blending comes in—essential oils have layered effects, and when we choose wisely, we can create something that fits us perfectly.
Take carrot seed oil, for example. It’s famous for its skin-regenerating properties, but did you know it also supports the body as a natural diuretic? That means if you need something for your skin to reduce fluid retention, you can build a blend that works for both.
How? Start with one oil that addresses your primary concern (carrot seed, in this instance), then choose oils that enhance its effects in multiple ways. If skin healing is your goal, but you also need support with circulation or swelling, you might blend with:
Helichrysum Oil (Helichrysum italicum) – skin healing + circulation support
Geranium Oil (Pelargonium graveolens var roseum) – skin-balancing + fluid regulation
Cypress Oil (Cupressus sempervirens) – astringent + supports lymphatic flow
There’s no need to fit someone else’s mold. Find the blend that moves with you.

Q&A On Carrot Seed Oil
Q: I’ve used carrot seed oil, but I also see wild carrot seed oil (Queen Anne’s Lace). Are they the same oil?
A: They may share a name, but these two oils are quite different!
Carrot Seed Oil (Daucus carota ssp sativus) comes from the seeds of the cultivated carrot—the same plant that gives us the familiar orange root. It’s rich in carotol, a key compound known for its skin-rejuvenating properties.
Wild Carrot Seed Oil (Daucus carota ssp carota), also known as Queen Anne’s Lace, is distilled from a non-edible, wild-growing variety of the plant. Instead of carotol, it contains geranyl acetate, giving it different benefits, including natural pain relief, skin-balancing effects (especially for fungal concerns like Candida), and support for the body’s defenses against unwanted bacteria.
Two oils, two distinct purposes—both valuable in their own way. Fascinating!
